Audubon’s Hathaway Library of Natural History and Audubon Teacher Resource Library are housed at our state headquarters on the Powder Mill Ledges Refuge at 12 Sanderson Road in Smithfield, RI.
The libraries are open to the public and you do not need to be an Audubon Society of Rhode Island member to join; you only need to provide your contact information to receive an Audubon Library Card. You may fill out an application form at the reception desk or contact Eugenia Marks at emarks@asri.org. Audubon Teacher Resource Library is by appointment only.

This is an entire list of our materials, sorted by title, including books, DVDs, curriculum guides, and audio tapes. You can click on the other headings (author, date, etc.) to sort by that field. You can search for a particular book, author or subject by typing in the search box to the right of the page and clicking the Search button.
To view materials sorted by category, click on the “Tags” button. Click on the headings to view all the books in that category. There are both subjects (Owls, Amphibians), and types of materials (DVDs, Children’s Books).
Patrons may come the libraries at any time during office hours to browse or check out books. Please check in with the receptionist to be shown to the Teacher Resource Library or the Hathaway Library.
You can order and pick up books at either state headquarters or the Audubon Environmental Education Center in Bristol, the Fisherville Brook Wildlife Refuge , Exeter, as well as deliveries to Providence.
To reserve materials ahead of time and arrange for pickup other than at Powder Mill Ledges, contact Eugenia Marks
Please provide the title, author, type of material, your contact information, and where you would like to pick it up. You will be contacted when it is available.
